ACIC & CASNCC 2016

ACIC&CASNCC 2016 has come to an end! Good job to all local and overseas teams!

"Cheer is unlike any other sport. Especially when all your hard work is only shown during the 2mins30secs of the routine, nobody sees your hard work before that and only what is shown on the blue mats on the competition day"

"6 Basket Tosses"

This year NOVA has pushed our flyers' limits with the execution of 6 high level basket tosses. We did not think it was possible given the difficulty level, but with constant encouragement from our bases and coaches, we did it! Good job flyers!

"4 Front Tuck Gladiators"
featuring our strong mid tiers~

Another highlight of our routine this season are front tuck gladiators. It was unachievable at the beginning with practically close to 0% hit rate, this, we would like to thank Team Monster, from Taiwan for all the tips and techniques during our exchange with them last August! 谢谢你们的指点!

"Cheer faces ON!"

THANK YOU MESSAGES

Thank you SP GUSTO and coach Pang Pang for lending us the venue to train multiple times, it's the only chance when we could run the routine with the full 9 roll mats. We were aware of the inconveniences caused every time we had to co-use their venue, because nearing the competition they were urgently in need of the training times as well, but they still accommodated to all of our requests to share their venue. Along the way we had also seen their growth from not being ready for their routine till they hit a solid ASU the day before the competition (and made Pang Pang cry lol), their awesome fighting spirit is something that Nova can definitely learn from.

Thank you NTU ACES and coach Wang Yun Shu aka Ah Song for also co-sharing their venue with us when we really had no venues to use. Nova was inspired when we saw them run their routine - no matter what hiccups there were during their routine runs, they were still able to remained calm and fought for the stunts to be completed till the very end. It was something that Nova had to learn - that no matter what happened in between, we were not allowed to give up.

Thank you to Super-subs Chan Kang and Meiyan without whom running the routine will be difficult with missing members - it was a stressful load to deal with, but they took it up time and time again without complaints, it's a true reflection of their passion and heart for the team. Also thank you to the Nova alumni, Nova's friends and supporters from Blazers for being with us throughout.

Thank you Altas Perpsquad, Coach Ruf G. Rosario and Coach Dale Harvey, for cheering us on during our last few routine runs when the team morale was low when stunts kept dropping and pyramids kept falling but your cheers helped us to fight on till the end. We enjoyed your hospitality while we were in the Philippines, yet it also felt like you guys were taking care of us during the competition period. We were truly touched by the team's reaction to Nova being crowned the champion - they said they truly felt happy because it's Nova, and not just any other team. There is indeed a kind of friendship called NOTAS!

We hope our bond will remain strong for many years to come.

It has been a long and tedious journey, but we can finally say, WE DID IT!!!!!

"Together as one, we are NOVA"

Last but not least, regardless of the results we hope that no one will ever treat any of the fellow cheerleaders or cheerleading teams with animosity. It is basic sportsmanship to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. All positive and negative results are for the teams to bear, nobody should have any rights to disregard or diminish the efforts that these coaches or athletes have put in for the entire season. We are all sportsmen, so stop the bullying.

It has been a hell of a journey and NOVA is excited to see what the future brings!

Next up, NOVA All-Stars Open House 2016! Keep a lookout at this space for more details!:)
