Hot on the heels of a groundbreaking season 15/16 , recruitment soon followed and just last month, we held our tryouts over 2 weekends. Here we are proudly presenting the up and coming rising stars of Nova All-Stars!

Age: 24
Previous Teams: NTU Hall 2 Awesomes, NTU Aces
Experience: 3 years
Having accumulated experience from both NTU Inter hall and Nationals level competitions, Xue Ting has demonstrated her tenacity by successfully juggling 2 competitions within a season. Additionally, her ability to pick up techniques within a short time strengthens our belief in her being able to grow into a very capable top tier.
Sarah Lim
Age: 20
Previous Team: TP Blazers
Experience: 2 years
A mid-tier from Blazers, her bubbly personality livens up the atmosphere of our team and makes training sessions more enjoyable for everyone.
Tan Li Yan
Age: 19
Previous Team: TP Blazers
Experience: 2 years
During tryouts, Li yan has shown tremendous potential not only in her stunts and mid tiering abilities but also in tumbling. Having already achieved her 3 pass tumbling this early in the season. Who knows what else would she surprise us with for season 16/17? ;)
Natalie Teh
Age: 20
Previous Team: TP Blazers
Experience: 4 years
Natalie is our next top flyer passing the initial tryouts! Fresh out of her first showing in the partner stunt category for season 15/16, she is currently improving in leaps and bounds most notably in her basket tosses too!
Jazlyn Ang Sook chin
Age: 22
Previous Teams: NTU Hall 2 Awesomes
Experience: 2 years
The 3rd top flyer pick from this round of tryouts and the 2nd to come from NTU Awesomes! Jazlyn's background in level 5 ensures that she already has a wide repertoire of skills before transitioning to level 6 with us this season.

Karilynn is a top flyer with great potential able to quick to pick up new skills with relative ease.

Lim Chun Heng
Age: 19
Previous Team: TP Blazers
Experience: 1 year
Chun Heng's forte lies in his stunting abilities, however he decided to tryout as a tumbling centric base in order to challenge himself and improve as an all rounder. He almost hit a successful 3 pass tumbling despite having very limited training prior! Jia you Chun Heng, looking forward to great things! :)
Basil Teo
Age: 19

Experience: 1 year
Basil passed the
tryouts as a stunt centric base. Known as the chipmunk of Nova, Basil shines not only in his stunts but personality as well. And you would be in awe at the weights he does in gym! More on that in the next post.
Joel Chong
Age: 18

Experience: 1 year
Joel passed the tryouts as a tumbling
centric base, displaying his great body awareness and explosive connecting punches. A hard worker, Joel puts in a lot of effort during and
outside of regular training training hours to better improve himself as a cheerleader.
Bryan Tong
Age: 25
Previous Team: KR Steppers
Experience: 4 years
Bryan’s journey as a cheerleader started
during his university days when he decided to stay in hall and eventually joined the renowned KR Steppers. Having an exceptionally strong basic skill set as compared to the rest, he is definitely able to progress far and learn alot more! (Y)
Daryl Teo
Age: 25
Previous Team: NTU Hall 9 Kyuubi
Experience: 4 years
Experience: 4 years
Persistence and diligence has helped Daryl alot in his initial few months within Nova. Within a short period, he has learnt a lot in terms of partner stunting and tumbling despite having very limited tumbling experience.
Wingkit
Age: 20
Previous Team: NYP Grizzlers
Experience: 3 years
Once in a while you get a base who is versatile in all basing roles. Wing Kit is one such example, a stable shoulderstand, an explosively fast tosser and an agile pitcher. Good Job!

Having represented Singapore in the Asia Opens as a part of Team Singapore a few years back, George definitely has the experience and skills to back him up. Additionally, he is honing his coaching skills outside Nova.
Song Yan
Age: 27

Experience:
Song Yan's first close encounter with Cheer was at CASNCC 2014. As a spectator with limited knowledge of the sport, he was awed by gravity-defying elements and the inspiring features of athleticism. Graduating from NUS then, he didn't have much to do while looking for a job, and by the tugging of fate, he soon landed himself in the sport with two awesome teams - Invincible Cheerleading and NUS Alpha Verve. He wanted to do the sport competitively for just one season. Who would have expected that one season turned into two, and now he is on his third season. With Nova All-Stars this season, he looks forward to further develop and refine his stunting and gymnastic capabilities while changing his rather physical-reliant approach to the sport. He is confident that under the experienced guidance of the Coach, Jimmy and many other accomplished athletes in this team, his time with Nova All-Stars will be fruitful and memorable. His dream stunt is single-arm rewind cupie.
Good job to everyone who passed our Nova entry tryouts, as it is definitely stamp of approval and faith in your capabilities. To all who did not make it this round, we encourage you to continue living your passion in cheer and join us again next season! JIAYOU to all the new bloods!!!
